Programs of Study
Hillsdale provides educational courses in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and pre-professional studies. A student, who completes the general education core curriculum, may complete an Associate in Arts degree or a Bachelor of Arts degree by finishing the requirements established by the College.
Bachelor Degrees
The Bachelor degree consists of the general education core curriculum and a major emphasis of study. Each emphasis for the degrees is listed below:

Requirements for a Bachelor of Arts Degree
- Earn a minimum of 128 semester hours. General education core curriculum and major requirements as prescribed by the College. A minimum of 45 hours must be completed in upper division courses.
- Earn a minimum of 256 grade (honor) points or double the number of semester hours completed.
- Complete at least 30 semester credit hours in residence.
- Complete at least 15 of the last 30 semester hours in residence.
- Any student having a failing grade in any required subject will not be graduated.
- No student who has an incomplete grade in a course needed for graduation will be awarded a diploma until the incomplete grade is removed from the transcript.
Associate in Arts Degree
The College offers courses leading to the Associate in Arts degree to high school graduates who complete the general education core curriculum and degree requirements. In addition, the student will choose in consultation with their advisor elective courses to increase professional skills, educational competencies, personal enrichment, and spiritual development. It is important that the student declare an area of concentration or identify the institution and/or the degree program they desire to allow the faculty advisor to assist in tailoring a program which will facilitate transfer and to prepare the student for the future. The student is ultimately responsible for their course selection in meeting the graduation requirements.

Requirements for an Associate In Arts Degree

- Earn a minimum of 128 grade (honor) points or double the number of semester hours completed.
- Complete at least 16 semester credit hours of the 64 in residence.
