LADY SAINT'S ARE CROWNED ACCA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!
Hillsdale 67
Arlington 64
With revenge in their veins the Lady Saint's came out on fire on Saturday afternoon to take on NCCAA Southwest Region foe Arlington Baptist College in the Association of Christian College Athletics National Title game.
From the tip it was clear Hillsdale came to win. Hillsdale started the game with an early 19-8 lead after just over five minutes of play in the first. Hale was four of four from the 3 point line in the first half, and finsihed the game leading the Patriots with 23 points.
Hillsdale went into half time trailing by one but that didn't last long. The combo of Junior Guard Amy Walker and Senior Center Kelsea Rae was too much for Arlington to handle. "Amy played one of her very best games all year," said Coach Owen on the juniors performance. "I was thrilled Kelsea ended her career on such a high note. Her second half was nothing short of spectacular." Rae lead the Saints in scoring with 25, and Walker with 19.
The Saint's finished the game out rebounding Arlington by 18. The Saint's pulled 15 offensive rebounds to the Patriot's 6. "We talked all year about winning the battle of the boards, this was a game our kids came through in that category and it paid off for them." - Coach Owen
The victory over Arlington Baptist marked the second year in a row that Hillsdale cut down the ACCA net, and will for another year wear the banner of National Champions.
