LADY SAINTS ARE CROWNED ACCA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!
With revenge in their veins the Lady Saints came out on fire on Saturday afternoon to take on NCCAA Southwest Region foe Arlington Baptist College in the Association of Christian College Athletics National title game.
From the tip it was clear Hillsdale came to win. Hillsdale started the game with an early 24-12 lead after just over eight minutes of play in the first half. Hillsdale's defensive presence seemed too much for the Patriots, causing their typical sharp shooters multiple problems and allowing the Saints to take a 21 point lead into the locker room at halftime. The half time score was 55-34.
The Patriots were led in scoring by Freshman reserve Tori Wise. Wise was five of eleven from the 3 point line, and finsihed the game 21 points. Diamond Martinez contributed 19 on the night.
Hillsdale brought the same intensity out of the locker room second half to take as much as a 35 point lead early in the second half making the score 79-44.
The perfect shooting from Junior Guard Regan Crowl set the tone for in the second half. Crowl was 4 of 4 from the 3-point line and finished the night with 13 points.
The combination of Horsby, Grant, and McCosar in the front court was too much for Arlington to handle. "Tiara played one of her very best games all year," said Coach Moeller on the freshman's performance. "I was thrilled Brook and Shana ended the season on such a high note, they were nothing short of spectacular." Hornsby lead the Saints in scoring with 19, McCosar with 17, and Grant with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Saints finished the game out rebounding Arlington by 13. The Saints pulled 18 offensive rebounds in the game. "We talked all year about winning the battle of the boards, this was a game our kids came through in that category and it paid off for them." - Coach Moeller
The victory over Arlington Baptist marked the third year in a row that Hillsdale cut down the ACCA net, and will for another year wear the banner of National Champions.

The second half was a different story. Hillsdale currently leads the nation in rebounding which seemed to be a key to their success on Monday night. The Saints out rebounded MCC by 10 in the second half.

Women's Hoops go 2-0 This Week
Women's Basketball stays undefeated in NCCAA DII Southwest Region play with their win over Barclay College in Haviland Kansas this last Tuesday. The Saint's beat the Bears 95-70.
Sophomore Shana McCosar was too much for the region foe to handle. McCosar finished the night with 32 points while going 3 of 5 from the three point line and converting 9 other buckets from the floor. "When Shana decides to turn it on I am convinced she will be hard pressed to find a kid in our region that can stick her," said Coach Moeller after her performance.
Sophomore Brooke Davidson played extremely well in Haviland posting 17 points in just under 15 minutes of action. Brooke Grant, Texas native lead the team in rebounds with 10 on the night. Redshirt Freshman Ashleigh Edwards rounded out the night with 15 points in the paint for the Saints.
The Saint's brought their confidence and energy back with them as the faced cross town rivalry Rhema Bible College on Friday night in a nail biter.
Hillsdale came out on fire but it didn't take long for the effects of Rhema's zone defense to take a toll on the Saints. The Saints closed the first half up 1.
The first 15 minutes of play in the second half belonged almost entirely to the Eagles. The Saints struggled to get going again, but turned it on when it counted the most. Down 12 with 4 minutes to go Brooke Grant hit a 3 that sparked the turn around. The next 4 minutes of basketball were a thrill for both teams.
Big shots quickly became the story of the night with great performances by Tiara Hornsby who had 19, Brooke Grant with 14, and Shana McCosar who posted 13 on the night. The combo of these three guards turned the game around just in time.
