Lori Straughan Gray (attended 1977 - 1979)

I am a true "Moore-ite," having lived in Moore, Oklahoma, my entire life. After graduating from Moore High School, I attended Hillsdale from 1977 to 1979, graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Business.

My parents began attending CrossPointe Church (formerly First Free Will Baptist Church) in Norman when I was two years old. This is the church I attend, and love, to this day. Though I am a "mere" 50 years old, I have attended CrossPointe longer than most of the people who attend today. I am the editor of CrossPointe’s monthly newsletter and secretary-treasurer of the women’s ministry .

I have been married for 29 years to Ernie Gray, who hails from Mississippi and Tennessee. Ernie and I met while we were both working, and playing softball, for Kerr-McGee Corporation. Ernie brought his son Chris into our marriage, and together we have had sons Derek and David. Chris and his wife Jennifer have blessed us with four beautiful grandchildren – Josh, Matthew, Anna and Becca.

My business education at Hillsdale helped prepare me for my career in the legal field. After enjoying 24 years as a legal secretary, I now have a rewarding career as a courtroom deputy and case manager for a U.S. district judge. I also serve on the board of the Parent Auxiliary Association of the Work Activity Center in Moore, a sheltered workshop for disabled adults.

Hillsdale – the many fond memories and the numerous friendships that I enjoy yet today – holds a very special place in my heart.
